Welcome to 3Kk and Pre-K4! We are excited to welcome our littlest learners to our school. It will be a fun year filled with learning and discovery. Families and our school work as partners in education, so we welcome the families of our students to share in the children's learning experiences.

3K Supply List

3K Supply List

2026-2027

  • 1 4X6 family picture to be kept in the classroom
  • 1 Standard size backpack (NO wheels) Please make sure a folder can fit inside.
  • 1 soft sided lunch box to be used for lunch
  • 1 spill proof reusable water bottle with closing straw/spout
  • 1 package of plain white paper plates (no design, not plastic)
  • 1 package of plastic flexible straws
  • 2 packages of baby wipes (Unscented)
  • 1 regular size BEACH/POOL towel for nap time. (NO sleeping bags, pillows or stuffed animals)
  • 1 package of 3 giant glue sticks (disappearing purple is best)
  • 1 4-pack of PlayDoh (4oz. classic colors only)
  • CHANGE OF CLOTHES in a Ziploc bag labeled with your child's name (1 short sleeve shirt, 1 long sleeve shirt, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of shorts, 2 pairs of underwear (if your child's wears them), 1 pair of socks
  • 1 package of pull-ups (if needed for your child) with refastenable sides
  • 2 containers of CLOROX wipes
  • 2 pumps of hand soap (foaming preferred)
  • 1 large Ketchup bottle
  • 1 large box of tissues
  • 2 rolls of paper towels

The above items need to be brought in the first day of school. ALL items need to be labeled with your child’s name.

School Hours

8:00-2:20

  • Arrival 7:40-8:00 Exit 7 (Include breakfast begins at 7:40)
  • Dismissal (Include Exits)

School Uniform Policy

P.S. 52 follows the School Uniform Policy.

  • Students are required to wear their school uniform Monday-Thursday.
  • Uniform (khaki pants, skirt or shorts with navy blue top) must be worn Monday - Thursday.
  • Sneakers should be worn
  • Friday is a dress down day.

Money Collection

Throughout the year, there will be times that we will need to collect money, like for trips or school events. We ask that the money be placed in an envelope. Seal the envelope, and on the front, please write the following information: Child's Name, Class #, Amount of money enclosed, and what the money is for.

Birthday and Classroom Celebrations

We love to celebrate your child and your family! Please contact your child's teacher at least one week prior to your child's birthday to discuss details of the celebration. Goodie bags and balloons are not permitted due to school policy. You will be invited to family engagement activities throughout the school year so please check dojo and school folders daily. Up to two adults are invited to classroom activities. Younger siblings may not attend.

Parent Communication

Please check Class Dojo and school folders daily. For the beginning of the school year, please send in a pair of elastic waist pants, a shirt, underwear and a pair of socks. Label all children's clothing and belongings. Update Operoo with the names of all adults who are permitted to pick up your child from school.

Curriculum

The 3K and Pre-K curriculum is comprised of the Heggerty Program for phonics and The Creative Curriculum for all other subject areas.

The Creative Curriculum Units are as follows

  • 1 (5x7) photograph of your child's family
  • 1 receiving blanket - a small blanket for rest time that can easily fit in the school bags (no pillows, stuffed animals or sleeping bags)
  • 1 soft lunch box (if your child brings lunch from home)
  • 1 standard sized school bag that can be zipper closed (no wheels and not toddler sized) (at least 15 inches in height)
  • 1 change of clothes to keep in the classroom for an emergency- elastic waist pants, a long sleeve shirt, underwear and socks all labeled with your child's name
  • 2 rolls of paper towels
  • 2 bottles of pump Foaming hand soap
  • 2 large canisters of disinfectant wipes (Lysol or Clorox)
  • 2 squeeze bottles of Ketchup (Heinz)
  • 2 packages of baby wipes (Pampers or Huggies)
  • 1 box of gallon-sized Ziploc bags
  • 1 box of tissues (rectangle size preferred)
  • 1 box of plain white paper plates (no design, not plastic)
  • 1 package of Elmer's glue sticks (the white glue sticks preferred over purple)
  • 1 box of Crayola Crayons (jumbo sized crayons)
  • 1 set of 4 ounce Play-Doh
  • 1 package of construction paper
  • 1 package of white card stock

Optional donations:

  • 1 package of white copy/printer paper
  • 2 containers of hand sanitizer with pump

Pre-K Assessments

• Ages and Stages Questionnaire

An individually administered screening instrument with parent collaboration, completed in the first weeks of school and used as a pre-assessment.

• Teaching Strategies:

An authentic, performance-based assessment based on teachers' observations of children at work in the classroom completed throughout the school year.
