Welcome to Fourth Grade and eager to work with your child this year. Communication is the key to any successful relationship, we are always available for your questions or concerns throughout the school year. You have a way to get in touch with us through Class Dojo, the quickest way is through our phone.

Supply List

Congratulations on completing the 3rd grade. The following is a list that the students will need in 4th grade.

There are many items that are not on here and will be provided by the school

  • Zippered soft pencil case (*No Pencil Boxes)
  • 2 Marble composition notebooks
  • 1 pack of white computer paper (optional)
  • Several sharpened #2 pencils
  • 3 Pack of multi colored highlighters
  • 1 packages of 3x3 post-its
  • 1 roll of paper towels
  • 1 boxes of tissues
  • 1 container of Clorox wipes
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 1 box gallon size ziploc bags (girls)
  • 1 box quart size ziploc bags (boy)

NO pencil sharpeners, binders, or white-out please
More items may be added in September according to your child’s teacher’s preference

Monday - Friday 8:00am-2:14pm

Arrival 7:40am-8:00am

Dismissal 2:14pm-2:20pm

School Uniforms

P.S. 52 follows the School Uniform Policy. Students are required to wear their school uniform Monday-Thursday. On the days that your child has gym, they may wear PS 52 Phys Ed pants or shorts and sneakers must be worn.

Money Collection

Throughout the year, there will be times that we will need to collect money, like for trips or school events. We ask that the money be placed in an envelope. Seal the envelope, and on the front, please write the following information: Child's Name, Class #, Amount of money enclosed, and what the money is for.

Birthday and Classroom Celebrations

Please provide one week in advance stating what you would like to bring in for your child’s birthday. Please keep it simple. Parties will be celebrated in the classroom and take approximately 20 minutes to complete. We would like to use Period 7. DO NOT SEND IN GOODY BAGS. THEY ARE NOT PERMITTED IN CLASS.

Curriculum

Eureka Math is the program that we use at PS 52.

Zearn.org can be used to review numbers to 20. Your child will receive log in information from that soon.

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness

Fast, fun, and effective, our 10-minute daily lessons deliver explicit instruction in critical phonemic awareness and early literacy skills.

Orton-Gillingham

A structured, multisensory method for teaching reading and spelling

HMH Reading

  • Students will focus on a skill and strategy each week.
  • Some strategies that we will focus on are sequencing story events, story elements (character, setting, problem, solution), making inferences, asking questions and using picture clues.
