Class 103 Supply List 2026-2027

Kindly label supplies with your child’s name and class.

  • 2 rolls of paper towels
  • 4 boxes of tissues
  • 2 packs of baby wipes
  • One box of gallon size Ziploc bags
  • One box of snack size Ziploc bags
  • 4 bottles of hand soap
  • 2 bottles of hand sanitizer
  • 2 packages of disinfectant wipes
  • Full change of clothes in case of an accident/weather (shirt, light sweater, pants, underwear and socks)
  • Pencil case

Please label all items with your child's name and class #103

School Hours

  • Monday - Friday 8:00am-2:14pm
  • Arrival 7:40am-8:00am
  • Dismissal 2:14pm-2:20pm

Uniforms

  • Uniforms (khaki pants, skirt or shorts with navy blue top) must be worn Monday - Thursday.
  • Sneakers should be worn on gym days.
  • Friday is a dress down day.
  • On gym days, students can wear P.S. 52 shorts or sweatpants and a solid navy shirt.

Money Collection

Throughout the year, there will be times that we will need to collect money, like for trips or school events. We ask that the money be placed in an envelope. Seal the envelope, and on the front, please write the following information: Child's Name, Class #, Amount of money enclosed, and what the money is for.

Birthday Celebrations

  • We can celebrate your child's birthday with a small in class celebration.
  • We cannot send home goody bags with food or candy in them.
  • Parents are allowed to attend. No siblings are allowed to attend.
  • Schedule the celebration with your child’s teacher a week in advance.
  • Keep it simple. Cupcakes or donuts are always an easy idea.

Parent Communication

Class Dojo

  • Class Dojo is checked daily and your child's teacher will respond at his/her earliest convenience.
  • For reminders
  • please make an appointment to discuss student progress

Google Classroom

  • Emails and passwords will be distributed.
  • Utilized in the event we are remote.

Behavior Management

AT PS 52, we monitor behavior using a Traffic Light System, GREEN means your child had a great day. Students always aim to stay on green. YELLOW is a warning. It may mean that something went wrong. But your child can always correct the behavior and go back to green. RED means your child was unable to correct their behavior and make better choices. He/She will be spoken to about the behavior and the teacher will follow up with parent contact.

Behavior Calendar- initial your child’s behavior calendar everyday. It will be located on your child’s folder.

Curriculum

Eureka Math is the program that we use at PS 52.

Zearn.org can be used to review numbers to 20. Your child will receive log in information from that soon.

Heggerty Phonemic Awareness

Fast, fun, and effective, our 10-minute daily lessons deliver explicit instruction in critical phonemic awareness and early literacy skills.

Orton-Gillingham

A structured, multisensory method for teaching reading and spelling

HMH Reading

  • Students will focus on a skill and strategy each week.
  • Some strategies that we will focus on are sequencing story events, story elements (character, setting, problem, solution), making inferences, asking questions and using picture clues.
